Brooks Rainwater

Brooks Rainwater is the senior executive and director of the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Center for City Solutions. The Center cultivates knowledge, elevates innovation, and helps prepare cities for the future. Rainwater leads the organization’s research agenda, technical assistance efforts, and leadership education by overseeing NLC’s Research, Rose Center for Public Leadership, Sustainable Cities Institute, and NLC University. Rainwater has published widely and researches, writes, and speaks on technology and city innovation, the future of work, the sharing economy, and the impact of state preemption on local authority. Rainwater serves on the STAR Communities Board, the American Library Association Public Policy Advisory Council, and the International Advisory Board for the City of Rotterdam. Rainwater holds a Master of Public Administration degree from The George Washington University.
